Smooth Lines Welding
Chris James became fascinated with the field of applied mechanics since the age of ten, he felt drawn to the study of how things work, and how physical materials change under the different forces found in nature. He started his career by applying himself to automobile mechanics, and through that, discovered a greater interest in engine machining. He decided to enrol in a general welding course in 2005 at the University College of the Fraser Valley (UCFV), and completed his Level C ticket a year later. However, Chris is not one to shy away from education and bettering oneself. He later completed his Level B ticket in 2007, which focused more directly on crafting your prior skills and knowledge of welding and metallurgy. He then finished his Level A ticket in 2009, which focused specifically on speciality welding. Each time, Chris graduated at the top of his class.
He also enrolled in a four year programme for steel fabrication in 2008. This allowed him to gain a good understanding of how to layout and fabricate almost any metal structure by cutting, bending, and assembling. Chris has since taken this practical knowledge into the workforce, and has worked for various companies, ranging from manufacturing stainless steel microbreweries, building and welding of pipelines and process plumbing, and the construction of structural steel supports for buildings.
In 2009, Chris decided to venture out on his own creating Smooth Lines Welding & Fabrication. With his background in applied mechanics in combination with years of experience and strong welding and fabrication skills, which make him uniquely qualified to create high quality, functional metal work for residential and business settings. He has since taken on projects as varied as restaurant equipment to conveyer belts, from minor repairs to fences and railings, and finally to the more artistic endeavours, such as hand crafted custom furniture. While Chris likes to challenge himself with projects that require more skill, and especially more artistic finesse, he is also perfectly happy to assist you in whatever project you might have on hand. Whether it be a rusty and dilapidated piece of machinery that needs refurbishing, or a pipe that needs welding, or a one of a kind table, Chris would be happy to assist you in your next endeavour.
